How it works

Every capital letter in your text is changed to its lowercase form. Punctuation, numbers, spaces and line breaks don't change. The conversion follows Unicode rules, so accented capitals like É and Ñ become é and ñ.

Common reasons to convert to lowercase

  • Fixing caps lock. If you typed a paragraph with caps lock on, convert it to lowercase and then run it through the Sentence Case Converter to restore capitals at the start of sentences.
